One Last Million

Seventy two year old Regis Philbin, the host of the popular television series “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”, is pleased that the ABC smash hit will be reappearing for a two week finale this August. Philbin has been the host for this game show for a little over ten years now.

According to People.com, the finale will be coming back with some significant changes; it will be bigger, better, and have more money than any show they’ve aired. The show had a severe drop in viewers in the past years, due to the 24-hour airing of the game show, so they stopped airing new episodes during April of 2007.

The producers told People that they are adding new twists to the show. They will have celebrity guest stars on each of the airings in order to gather in viewers. Philbin is most excited for Charles Grodin, Kevin Spacey, and Alec Baldwin to guest star.

The show normally consists of a series of fifteen multiple choice questions leading up to a million dollar prize if the contestant answers them correctly. However, this time the contestants will be trying to earn money for their different charities they’re involved with and there are new lifelines for the contestants to get aide in questions when stuck.

This long lived series will be making quite the comeback this August and will be long remembered by many viewers.
