Couch potatoes everywhere will be happy to hear that regardless of their taste, there is a new show for everyone coming out this fall. Do you like drama, trauma, and a little bit of romance? The big broadcast stations have them and there are even vampires in the mix. The CW, NBC, and ABC all have new lineups and there are four note-worthy shows that are all a mixture of genres.
“The Vampire Diaries” based on a series of novels written by L.J. Smith is a teen drama about a girl named Elena. Her world comes crashing down when her parents are killed in a tragic car accident and now she and her brother must find a way to cope. The recently popular student becomes connected to a mysterious new boy named Stefan. However, she is unaware that he is a vampire who is trying to build a life as a normal teenager. Stefan also has a brother who is a typical vampire that’s into violence and blood. What happens when these two brothers fight with each other over Elena’s soul? AOL.com describes it as “Twilight meets Dawson’s Creek.” The show airs Thursdays at 8p.m. on the CW.
Fans of the show “Gone without a trace” and other mysteries will enjoy ABC’s new show, “The Forgotten”. The show is about a former detective, Alex Donovan who, after his young daughter disappeared, left the police force. He gathers together a group of amateur detectives; a science teacher, a med school dropout, a crime enthusiast, and a normal civilian who is bored with her job. Together, they take on the cases that the police had come to a dead end on. They meet in living rooms and coffee shops to analyze details and learn more on the victims. Will this group of amateurs learn to crack the case? You can find out every Tuesday at 10p.m. on ABC.
“Modern Family” is a new show that offers a witty look at family life in America. It is about three different families who are related to each other and it’s told from an unknown documentary film maker. The parents, Claire and Phil have three kids and each of these kids have different problems that the adults constantly try to deal with. Then there is Mitchell and Cameron who are partners with an adopted baby girl from Vietnam. The last family is Jay and his trophy wife, who is often mistaken for his daughter. All of these families experience outrageous family situations that make it stand out from typical all American family shows. The show can be seen on Wednesday on 9 p.m. on ABC.
“Trauma” is a show for people who enjoy medical shows like E.R. It is a show about a team of paramedics at San Francisco General Hospital. What is different about them is that they deal with very extreme situations like explosions, floods, or car crashes. This show promises to have a lot of drama and action with the occasional tear jerking moments. The show is on Monday at 9p.m. on NBC.
Whether you are in the mood for romance, suspense, or comedy these shows have got you covered. The new fall season seems to be a promising one. It’s definitely an excuse to procrastinate on your homework and see what’s good on the new fall lineup. So get comfortable and grab that remote!
