Haunted houses can be the highlight of your night when you’re out looking for a terrifying time around Halloween. Many people choose to go around nearby haunted houses to get their fright for the night. If you are into the whole “haunted” concept, why don’t you visit some of these actual places around town to see what can really scare your pants off? See how much you can take of real ghosts and haunted buildings and their true stories.

You know you are in a REAL haunted house when you turn the corner and the sound of a door slamming jolts your whole body. In Boulder, Colorado there is an actual haunted hotel where there had been no reported deaths known to take place in that particular Inn. Even though there have not been any previous murders or killing sprees to go on in that building, many locals have seen phenomena ranging from sounds coming from bathrooms, elevator doors opening and closing when people walk by, reddish stains appearing in random places on the walls, and voices that have been heard by nearly every staff member who is working in the hotel.

On the 3rd floor of Roubidoux Hall at Western State College in Gunnison, there is a spirit that haunts the entire floor. A man had died from asphyxiation when the building caught fire around 20 years ago. Other boys in present day who are to live in the dorm room on Roubidoux Hall have seen ghostly apparitions over the side of the bed while sleeping. At times, the room’s door has been known to lock guys within the room, because the man who died had been locked in his room without noticing there was a fire.

In Glenwood Springs, almost everyone has heard of the haunted Hotel Colorado. There have been sightings of a little girl in Victorian dress playing on the stairs, as well as a murdered chambermaid who appears only at night in the Devereux Room. Along with those terrifying occurrences, doors open and close by themselves and the elevator moves up and down sporadically. The smell of cigar smoke has also been detected by workers and people who were staying at the hotel, when no one had been smoking anything at anytime.

There are way more haunted places where these horrifying sites came from, find out for yourself and maybe even get into a sketchy situation, where you would die to just get home and get safely away from all of the bad. It could make a good story for others and also could make you look like a champ to even have entered such a gruesome residence.
