On top of Barak’s many important decisions in his first week as president of the United States, he also had to make his all too important Super Bowl pick.
"I wish the Cardinals the best. Kurt Warner is a great story, and he's closer to my age than anybody else on the field. But I am a longtime Steelers fan," President Obama said.
After an important oval office meeting, Obama sat down with reporters to discuss this Sunday’s NFL Super Bowl between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburg Steelers. Even though the president is a native of Chicago, Illinois, he is a very strong Steelers supporter. Steelers’ owner Dan Rooney was a big supporter throughout Obama’s presidential campaign although it does not influence his pick.
"I wish the best to the Cardinals. They've been long suffering. It's a great Cinderella story. But other than the Bears, the Steelers are probably the team that's closest to my heart."
On an interesting note, due to the current economic crisis sweeping our nation, some of the infamous Super Bowl advertisers will not be marketing this year.
Vice President Joe Biden, after hearing Barak’s comments on Super Bowl XLIII, commented with CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller that “We agree on that too boss!”
Super Bowl XLIII takes place February 1, 2009 on ABC.
