Tiger Woods, Comeback Kid

Tiger Wood’s begins his PGA tour comeback today, February 24th, in Marana, Arizona. He was laid off at the Accenture Match Play tournament in Tucson, Arizona. Eight months after surgery to repair the anterior ligament in his left knee, he is ready to resume his run at immortality. The last time people saw Wood’s play, he was beating the sports biggest names on just one good leg in one of the most famous US open victories. What Woods does know is that he is ready to play golf at the highest level again. "It feels great to be back out here in a competitive environment again," he said yesterday after walking and playing 18 holes for the first time since Torrey Pines last June. His break-of-dawn practice round drew huge galleries who saw that, despite a few inconsistent drives, Woods looked better than ever. His iron play and short game appeared particularly sharp, which was not surprising given Woods was never one to arrive at a tournament unprepared. His focus is on winning in his first time back on tour.
